原文报道： Grand Prix Portugal - Mira 2016 On the 9th of July the 20th edition of the Mira One Loft Race took place in Portugal. The oldest One Loft Race from Portugal showed once again their professionality and experience. Mira, a little town along the coast almost in the middle of Portugal, since 20 years the place for a huge gathering of pigeonfanciers. With the 20th edition this one loft race is the oldest in Portugal and it shows. They have the routine of very experienced organizers and make it as professional as possible. Fancier from 21 countries send in their pigeons to this race. As they have their own quarantine it is easy for people from outside Europe to send in birds and this is really appreciated. A simple loft with all the necessary requirements to keep the pigeons in good health. The loft has room for about 4,000 birds but the organization only allows 2,000 birds. This because they like the pigeons to have enough space and to feel at home. Even for this amount of pigeons the loft feels very cozy.     This year they didn't reach the amount of 2,000 birds and this for several reasons. First of all the registration fee went from 50€ last year to 100€ this year, for us still very payable but in Portugal this is becoming too expensive for many people. Now the Portuguese fanciers send in half as much pigeons as it costs half as much more. Another thing that we can't go around is the fact that Portugal has 6 (!!) one loft races. Maybe they're becoming their own competitors? Nevertheless this is still a very wonderful race that is being organized very professional. I mustn't say that the Portuguese people are very friendly and welcoming but they are also good at the organization of this one loft race. The latest fancy updates in pigeonsport is being used here and this has a lot to do with the cooperation of Benzing. The registration of the birds runs very smoothly, there are camera's everywhere and a big screen is placed to see the home coming of the pigeons. And immediatly after the registration of the birds you can see clearly the ranking, name, ringnumber and so on from the pigeon.     Basketing The evening before the race we could have look at the basketing of the pigeons. A large group of volonteers were present to make sure everything was checked, double checked and this ran very smoothly. Even the Portugueze President José Luis Jacinto helped out basketing the pigeons. A great example of team work was shown.     Weather conditions One thing I really want to share with you is the fact that the evening before the release of the birds we all got underneath paper...a clear overview with all details needed along the flying route !!! The Portuguese Federation has an arrangement with the weather official of Portugal and they get all data they need. Off course, they don't get if for free, it costs money and a lot of money, but the Portuguese Federation likes to spent money on something as important as this.     Results No One Loft Race without a winner. This year the winner of the final race and also the overal winner was a Portuguese fancier namely Paulo Jorge Moreira Martins. The nice thing about this winner is that he only entered 1 pigeon ! How lucky can you get ! First belgian arrival was Emil Denys with a very nice 4th position. Emil Denys even ended 2nd on the overal result list. First belgian Ace Bird in Mira (and the only belgian ace bird in the top 20) was on of Herbots Gebr. on the 6th place.     After a hot Portuguese afternoon, a nice lunch at the loft and the selling of about 20 participating pigeons on spot, all winners were honored at a wonderful location in Mira with food and drinks. It was very nice to see that the Belgian youth did very well on this one loft race, not only the individual race but also the team did well.
